Time has come for us to meet the new Jeep 2014 model developed especially for the Geneva Motor Show. The big day will be sometime next week. We are now talking about the 2014 Jeep Compass that was built to please European customers, thanks to the special specifications they need. To be really honest, the new version of the model looks just like the unit built for the American market, so no difference there. The good news about the European-spec model is that the carmaker has established to send it on sale in the second quarter of this year, so in only a few months. The ones interested in owning one of these bad boys should know that the new 2014 Jeep Compass will be built in three trim levels: Sport, Limited and there will also be the North variant.
To transfer the output to the wheels the engineers have equipped the new variant with a new 6-speed PowerTech automatic transmission. The model also comes as standard with ParkView rear backup camera and side air bags that are being mounted in the front seats. Moving on, we also have to mention other new elements Jeep specialists have decided to offer. The new model will also feature fog lamps, keyless entry, air conditioning, power and heated exterior mirrors. Actually this is not all it is. The new 2014 Jeep Compass developed for the European market also features a 60 / 40 fold-flat rear seat, hill-start assist, cruise control, electronic roll mitigation and anti-lock disc brakes.
There is no available info on the engine line up so far, but most likely it will receive a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder capable of generating 158 horsepower and 191 Nm of torque and a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder capable of producing 172 horsepower and 223 Nm of torque. There might also be two diesel variants available. We are talking bout two 2.2-liter CRD engines expected to develop 136 horsepower and 163 horsepower, respectively.
