We have to admit that each car manufacturer has something unique in its fleet of vehicles. But the most important thing is that day by day they try to set new standards of quality. This happens to Kia, too. And as all respectable Asian brands, Kia is one of the most innovative companies that need to surprise the future. They are continuously working on new projects and they have just introduced the Kia Picanto Quantum for the UK.
The Kia Picanto Quantum comes out as a special edition, being available only for the three-door Picanto. The special edition comes just with a Titanium Silver metallic paint. It rides on a set of 15 inch alloy wheels. It also features automatic AC, smart key entry system with start/stop and adjustable and heated mirrors with LED turn signals. If the client wishes, he can order a six-speaker sound system, front fog lights, electric sliding and tilting sunroof as well as automatic headlight control. The Kia Picanto Quantum can also be equipped with LED ambient lightning, rear parking sensors, UV solar windscreen, illuminated driver’s side vanity mirror and a SuperVision instrument cluster.
The Kia Picanto Quantum is powered by a rather small 1.25-liter gasoline engine which generates 84 bhp (63 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 120 Nm (88 lb-ft) at 4,000 rpm. This can be linked to a standard five-speed manual gearbox (from 11,895 GBP) or to a four-speed automatic (from 12,495 GBP) one. The manual version goes from 0 to 60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 11 seconds and can reach a maximum speed of 106 mph (170 km/h), returning 62.8 mpg UK with CO2 emissions of 106 g/km. The automatic version requires only 12.9 seconds for the same 60 mph distance and reaches its maximum speed at 101 mph (162 km/h) while returning 50.4 mpg UK and having 130 g/km of CO2. The Quantum manual version costs £11,895 and the four-speed Quantum automatic is priced at £12,495.
