Two new models developed by the 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport and Range Rover will receive a series of updates in terms of technology. Now, the improved models will be available for order starting the 10th of September and deliveries will start at the beginning of next year. The new technologies will be a bit different from market to market and are customer-focused driver assistance technologies. Here we can mention Traffic Sign Recognition, Lane Departure Warning and Perpendicular Park. The engineers have also introduced the new InContrlTM that will include several connectivity features.
In terms of power train, the options will include a strong 4.4-liter SDV8 diesel unit for the Sport variant, but there is also a V6-powered unit as well capable of generating 340 PS hybrids for both body styles. The CO2 emission level will reach 169 g/km. The SDV8 comes with revised intake system that includes twin-intercoolers, a new sump; new cast alloy engine mounts and of course, optimized calibration. It is capable of generating 339 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque.
To transfer the output to the wheels, the engineers have offered a ZF 8HP70 8-speed automatic transmission. With it, the engine is capable of accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in 6.9 seconds and to reach a top speed of 140 mph. This is possible when the Dynamic Pack is fitted. Both models will also be available with a 5.0-liter V8 S/C 510 PS and 3.0-liter V6 S/C 340 PS, two diesel engines; 3.0-liter TDV6 258 PS and 3.0-liter SDV6 292 PS and of course, the new hybrid power train. With the 3.0-liter SDV6 turbo-diesel engine together with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission and a 35 kW electric motor and not the torque convertor. These will enable the car to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in less than 7.0 seconds. The Range Rover buyers will also have the option to select a new Black Design Pack variant.
