At the present, Lotus is an expert in lightweight architecture and this allowed it to become a leader in green vehicle technology. The company has just revealed the 2014 Lotus Elise S Cup R.
The 2014 Lotus Elise S Cup R is specially designed and developed for the track. It has an aerodynamic body kit containing a front splitter, updated side skirts, a rear diffuser and a rear wing. The supercar also features a tow hooks, a hardtop and a polycarbonate rear window. The vehicle rides on a set of 16 or 17 inch forged alloy wheels wrapped in Yokohama Advan Neova AD07 LTS rubbers. The pictures are not too many, and the inside of the car is not captured in them. However, the company states that the cabin is equipped with a quick release steering wheel, a HANS-compatible racing seat and FIA-compliant roll cage.
The 2014 Lotus Elise S Cup R is powered by a supercharged 1.8-liter 2ZR-FE four-cylinder engine that works linked to a six-speed manual transmission. The vehicle also received a sport-tuned suspension system (with adjustable springs and dampers), high-performance brakes and a "triple-pass" radiator.The car weights 924 kg (2037 lbs), it will have a starting price of £39,125 and it will be eligible to compete in the 2014 Lotus Cup racing series. The car will certainly do magic in the motorsport segment.
