Mercedes have introduced the new 2014 Citan Crewbus. The vehicle is intended to appeal to companies dealing with commercial cargo transports or passenger transports. The auto comes with up to seven seats and includes a third seat row consisting of two individual seats. The two extra seats are adjustable and can be individually removed or folded depending on the context. Furthermore, the manufacturer informs that the 2014 Citan can also be used for other purposes such as a mobile workshop, for fresh food service or airport `follow-me` vehicle.
Following the success of the existing Citan which already became quite popular in Switzerland, Norway, Turkey and all EU countries, Mercedes unveiled its long wheelbase variant. The 2014 Citan Crewbus is the result of the united forces of Mercedes, Daimler and Renault Nissan and is inspired from the Renault Kangoo Maxi.
Mercedes also announced plans for two new engines for the 2014 Citan Crewbus.
The Citan 111 CDI is described as a `powerful, smooth and economical` top of the range 1.5 liters diesel engine. The motor outputs 110 HP (81 kW) and a 240 Nm (177 lb - ft) peak torque. The 111 CDI enables the vehicle to go from 0 to 100 Km/ h in 12.3 seconds before reaching its maximum speed of 170 Km/ h. Fuel consumption is of 4.4 liters per 100 Km due to the BlueEfficiency package included. Pricing for the Citan 111 CDI is of €17,130 (VAT not included).
The Citan 112 is depicted as `lively, comfortable, cost-effective`. The Citan 112 is a 1.2 liter petrol engine that outputs 112 HP (84 kW). Equipped with the Citan 112, the vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 Km/ h in 11.7 seconds and reaches a 173 km/ h top speed. Fuel consumption is of 6.1 liters per 100 Km and the pricing is €15,810 (VAT not included).
