This year at the North American International Auto Show that takes place now in Detroit, German carmaker Mercedes-Benz has revealed the entire lineup of facelift versions of the E-Class vehicles. Here we talk about the sedan, wagon, cabriolet, coupe, new engines, new assistance systems and also a new design idiom.
The 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class reaches a new level in terms of efficiency and care for the environment. Two of the contributing factors are the ECO start / stop technology and direct-injection. In terms of power plants, we have wide range of powerful gasoline and diesel units with four, six or eight cylinders. Now, when it comes to the gasoline engines, the output ranges from a 190 horsepower diesel to the high-performance 577 horsepower gasoline engine.
Exterior modifications refer to the new front-end design and revised proportions. The front end received new headlights and the sedan and wagon versions are available for the first time with two different front-end designs. The interior matches the exterior and dominates by exquisite materials, a new two-part time extending across the entire dashboard, a new center console, a large color display and also fresh interior colors.
The Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG 4MATIC in the E-Class family sets new standards for performance and dynamic purposes. It can develop 577 horsepower and 590 lb. ft. of torque which are being sent to the wheels through a newly developed, performance-oriented AMG 4-MATIC all-wheel drive system. The standard model receives power from a 5.5-liter V8 Biturbo AMG engine capable of generating from 518 horsepower to 550 horsepower and 531 lb. ft. of torque.
The 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Sedan and Wagon feature highly efficient engines, new drive assistance systems and very refined styling. These variants will be available in US showrooms starting this spring.
