Mercedes GLA 45 AMG

When you say Mercedes-Benz, you automatically think of one of the greatest auto manufacturers in Europe. And for this we have to thank partly to the intense competition between the German brands and of course because of the company’s desire to keep its place among the best. As the crossover market is continuously expanding, Mercedes has to make a move in gaining more territory in the CUV segment. Well, they have just introduced the Mercedes GLA 45 AMG at the NAIAS, in Detroit.

The Mercedes GLA 45 AMG is targeting to become the most powerful compact crossover ever manufactured. It is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder Euro 6 gasoline engine that develops 360 HP (265 kW) and 450 Nm (331 lb-ft) of torque. It is linked to a seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT dual-clutch transmission and an AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive system which allows the model to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds before reaching an electronically-limited maximum speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).

The AMG version of the Mercedes GLA has some extra elements that distinguish it from the regular one. The vehicle features a beefed up body kit, a quad exhaust setup, a set of bigger alloy wheels, and some other additional bits and pieces you would normally find on an AMG model such as the large vents, muscular side skirts and more aggressive bumpers. It can also be equipped with carbon fiber, aero and night, as well as red brake calipers, an interior carbon fiber trim, different upholstery options and performance seats. On the whole it is an awesome vehicle, worth of the AMG name.
