Mercedes-Benz Citan

German carmaker Mercedes-Benz revealed the Citan, a small van that will be available in three lengths and three versions. It features a range of BlueEFFICIENCY engines and safety equipment and the fuel consumption is actually quite low. The new model will be powered by a range of turbo-diesel direct-injection engines capable of developing somewhere between 75 horsepower and 110 horsepower. The petrol engine also offered as an option is capable of developing 115 horsepower. The carmaker also offers a start/stop function and low rolling resistance tires. All the power is being transferred to the wheels through a 5- and a 6-speed transmission that feature a joystick gearshift situated on the center console. The Citan offers long service intervals. The Citan Extra-long will be available as a 5-seat vehicle under the name of Citan Mixto with roof rails and a ladder hatch offered as options. In terms of safety, Mercedes offers Start-off Assist system, height-adjustable seat belts and belt force limiters. The model also has an overhead stowage and a stowage compartment between the seats. The price of the model was not revealed yet.
