Mercedes-Benz is one of Europe’s greatest automakers. This is due partly to the intense competition between the world’s most famous brands, reason which of course gives birth to the company’s desire to score points in its favour and overcome the enemies. The Germans have just revealed the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG, although its official debut is scheduled for the Los Angeles Show and the Tokyo Motor Show, too.
The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG cannot be a surprise anymore, because a few months ago, back in August, the manufacturer released an advertising video with the subject. However, the impressive thing will certainly be the power it can release. The S65 AMG is powered by a twin-turbo V12 6.0-liter engine generating 630 HP (463 kW) between 4,800 and 5,400 rpm with a maximum torque of 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft) available between 2,300 and 4,300 rpm. The engine works linked to a 7G-TRONIC seven-speed automatic transmission which allows the outstanding sedan to do the 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.3 seconds before reaching an electronically limited speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). The car returns 23.7 mpg UK (19.7 mpg or 11.9 liters / 100 km) with corresponding CO2 emissions of 279 g/km. With these figures given, Mercedes-Benz declares the vehicle the world's most fuel-efficient V12 high-performance saloon when it comes to power and torque.
Inside the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG we can find Nappa leather upholstery, some AMG sport seats, a leather lined dashboard, door centre panels in a diamond-pattern design, leather-clad roof grab handles, additional wood trim and AMG stainless-steel door sill panels illuminated in white. The car is equipped with a two-spoke AMG sports steering wheel, aluminum shift paddles and a high-quality analogue clock. Of course the AMG logos are a must have.
The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG is equipped with a set of 20 inch multi-spoke lightweight alloy wheels wrapped in 255/40 R20 rubbers at the front and 285/35 R20 ones at the back. At the client’s request, they can be stopped by an optional high-performance ceramic composite braking system which is 20 percent lighter than the stock system and comes with 420mm discs and specially painted brake calipers. Among the goodies that define the S65 AMG there is the MAGIC BODY CONTROL system with ROAD SURFACE SCAN and the ESP Dynamic Cornering Assist. The vehicle combines dynamism and exclusivity, supreme quality, comfort and safety. All these make it an amazing car.
