Mercedes-Benz S-Class

German model the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class has entered production. The car will be built in Germany, in Sindelfingen. The new S-Class is opening up additional opportunities for us in the market. It has many innovations and it is so the standard-bearer of automotive progress. All variants are produced in an efficient and flexible process on one assembly line. The range of optional extras is very different that it is very unlikely that any S-Class will be entirely identical to another over the lifecycle of the vehicle. All the investments indicate how strongly the Sindelfingen site and the biggest employer in the Stuttgart region are focused on future requirements. The company has organized trainings in preparation for production start-up. Now, new technologies are being used in the body shop to join cast aluminum alloys. For the aluminum lightweight roof, a manufacturing process has been developed: the roof and steel body will now be joined once they have been through the paint shop together. This helps employees to pick parts by signaling to them which storage unit contains the component that is required.

Another important stage of the planning is the energy efficiency. The energy consumption per vehicle has been lowered be approximately 20 % thanks to improvements to the building engineering. Back in 2012, the S-Class was the best selling luxury sedan in the world and because it was still in very high demand right up to the point that it was discontinued, the production switch-over has been integrated into the current assembly process. There are a lot of systems that make the new model safer and more comfortable. This is all for now, folks, coming from the Germans from mercedes-Benz.
