Nissan e-NV200 in Tokyo

We have received some great news from Japanese carmaker Nissan. According to them, we will have the opportunity to see the e-NV200 100 % electric commercial vehicle on the Japanese market during the fiscal year 2014. Later it will be sold everywhere in the world. This is the second electric vehicle Nissan has developed following the Leaf. The production process of the model will begin in Barcelona, Spain at the middle of next year. Just like the leaf, it offers great interior spaciousness, utility and practicability of conventional vans and it has 0 CO2 emissions.

It features the power supply function in the luggage areas for outdoor activities or even emergency power, which is very important in critical situations. The company is now discussing with different officials of the Yokohama city regarding the use of the e-NV200 it the public services and the development of a vehicle monitor user program that will be available to all city residents, for that matter. Nissan and Yokohama city are collaborating on the Yokohama Mobility Project Zero trying to realize the next generation in traffic to obtain a city to a low carbon footprint.

The new e-NV200 might be a way of expanding this project. Plans indicate that the city will use the new models for smart transportation in Barcelona, like for examples with taxies as it offers great acceleration and quiet operation, all possible thanks to the power plant of the Nissan Leaf. Nissan seems to move slow, but in a very smart way. We will have the opportunity to see the new model for the first time at the Tokyo Motor Show.
