Did you happen to think that you’ve heard everything in matter of SUVs? Well, here’s more to come. Peugeot officially introduced a new SUV concept, called the Peugeot Quartz, which will be available in a three-door configuration. And this is no surprise, as the SUV fans are more and more each day. People’s tastes in matter of vehicles are different and many of them prefer this type of cars. So it seems there is plenty of room left in the utility vehicle’s segment.
The Peugeot Quartz concept rides on a set of 23-inch wheels. It has a dramatic exterior styling with sharp lines and short overhangs. The front bumper includes massive air intakes and radiator grille. Both headlights and taillights benefit from LED technology. It is also equipped with limited slip differential and the pneumatic suspension, which is automatically adjustable and offers a ground clearance varying between 300 mm and 350 mm.
The Peugeot Quartz concept is powered by the 500 HP HYbrid drivetrain that includes a 4-cylinder 1.6 THP turbocharged gasoline engine with 270 HP (198 kW) and 330 Nm (243 lb-ft) an 115 HP (85 kW) electric motor which charges the 400V battery during deceleration. At the back of the vehicle there's another 85 kW electric motor for propulsion and battery charging. Only using the electric mode, the vehicle can travel up to 31 miles (50 km). The Peugeot Quartz concept can be seen at the Paris Motor Show.
