Internationally famous with 60 million vehicles sold throughout the world, Peugeot has been combining excellence and emotion for over 200 years. Now the company has just revealed the Peugeot RCZ R production version before the vehicle’s premiere planned for Goodwood Festival of Speed. In 2012, at Paris Motor Show, a concept previewing this car was introduced.
The Peugeot RCZ R is powered by a 1.6-liter THP engine outputting 270 bhp (201 kW) at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 330 Nm (243 lb-ft) from 1,900 rpm. This enables the car to sprint the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in less than 6 seconds and to reach an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph (249 km/h). The company also worked on making the model lighter and to improve its consumption. This means that the car can return 44.8 mpg UK (37.3 mpg US or 6.3 liters / 100 km) in the combined cycle and that it has CO2 emissions of 145 g/km.
The Peugeot RCZ R has been submitted to some changes that give it a sportier appearance. Its body has been lowered and the car rides on a set of 19 inch alloy wheels. At the back, the car got a large fixed spoiler that improves the downforce. It is equipped with a Torsen differential, a bespoke rear diffuser and some 380 mm brake discs. Inside the vehicle there is Nappa/ Alcantara all over the seats, a smaller steering and a modified gearshift. The car will be available in Nera Black, Morrocan Red , Opal White and Mercury Grey paints. The car will reach the showrooms and the dealers at the beginning of 20114. It will also be present at the Frankfurt Auto Show.
