Porsche 911 GT America

There were not a lot of rumors ahead of unveiling the 2014 Porsche 911 GT America, a model that has as base the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. The car was designed exclusively for the new United Sports Car Racing series GT Daytona class for 2014. We will have the opportunity to see it on the roads starting October this year when it will be available for sale to those teams committed to running the entire 2014 USCR season.

The engineers have declared that they have been able to create this endurance race car very quickly and to build it to the upcoming 2014 USCR GT Daytona rules. This way teams will have adequate time to attend all the winter test sessions in advance of the season debut at the Rolex 24 at Daytona. The new Porsche 911 GT America will come with a 4.0-liter racing engine which will be able to produce 470 horsepower. This unit is paired to a 6-speed sequential transmission with pneumatic paddle shift system and electronic throttle. It comes with elements like lightweight body work with aluminum-steel composite construction, a fuel safety cell with new quick-fill connection, new color Cosworth dash display and also different safety elements that include the KED system for driver stabilization.

The race braking system improves the excellent endurance qualities in comparison to its predecessor. The retail starting price will be $269.000 and in the US, the model will be sold exclusively by Porsche Motorsport North. The engine is capable of generating 470 horsepower which is quite impressive. The endurance package includes a new front spoiler / diffuser, new design rear cover ad carbon-fiber under tray. This element was offered to maximize aerodynamic balance with USCR-spec rear wing.
