Radical Sportscar have revealed their RXC Turbo. The event took place during the 2014 Autosport International Birmingham, UK.
Following last year`s unveiling of the Radical RXC Coupe during the same event, the company has now released an EcoBoost variant for the vehicle. The RXC Turbo is powered by a twin turbo V6 3.5 liter engine with an output of 460 HP (338 kW) with a 678 Nm (500 lb- ft) peak torque at 6.000 rpm. The 940 Kg (2.072 lbs) auto can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 96 Km/ h) in just 2.6 seconds before reaching its maximum speed of 185 mph (298 KM/ h).
The Eco Boost engine is mated to a specially designed seven speed transverse Quaife transmission which comes equipped with paddle shifters. The RXC Turbo rides on 17 inch center lock cast alloy wheels (a forged version is also available optionally). The brake power is provided by the 330 mm front/ 310 mm rear fully floating disk brakes which come with six pot calipers. Buyers can also opt for ceramic discs and calipers.
Furthermore, the auto features a bespoke Intrax Racing Suspension, which alongside double wishbones added all around provides an enhanced handling while on the road. Optionally, four- way adjustment is also available on the RXC dampers, but all cars come with GT3- style camber as well as suspension geometry adjustment.
Design wise, the RXC Turbo louvres above the wheels and engine & braking systems cooling is directed through the vents positioned in side- pods and nose. The adjustable G3- spec rear wing as well as the gullwing doors that ensure access in the cockpit are only bits and pieces of Radical`s most complex body produced. The body includes both carbon fiber and composite elements. Of course, the integral roll cage ensures the driver`s safety while the car is equipped with front and rear crash boxes. RXC Trubo has easily passed the European Type- Approval crash test.
The interior features a multi-function fully adjustable steering wheel, heated windscreen as well as an adjustable pedal box. The seats can optionally be wrapped in leather or Alcantara and a bespoke service is also available.
Pricing for the 2014 RXC Turbo starts at 129.000 GBP for both the road- going or race ready configuration variants.
