Renault is a very familiar car name in the auto industry. It is there for sports car enthusiasts, too. With exclusive vehicles and sports competitions it brings the world of motorsport closer to the regular people. All the Renault sports cars reflect the company’s tradition in excellence. Clio, Twingo and Megane are the names that offer a high pleasure of sporty driving. And the French manufacturer is in the process of developing the new 2014 Renault Clio Cup.
The 2014 Renault Clio Cup is based on the Clio RS 200 EDC model. It has an aerodynamic body kit that, among others, contains an aggressive front fascia, a roof mounted scoop and a tailgate mounted spoiler. The sports vehicle rides on a set of 17 inch Speedline Corse wheels that can be wrapped either in Dunlop tires or in Michelin rubbers. Of course the sporty dual exhaust system can’t be missing. The inside of the car is also kept racy. It is equipped with a digital dashboard, a multi function steering wheel, a special Sabelt racing seat with compatible Hans headrest.
The 2014 Renault Clio Cup is powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 220 HP (161 kW) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque. This works mated with a Sadev six-speed sequential transmission which can change gears in just 100 milliseconds. Some other worth to mention elements are placed on the car, too. It has a Cosworth SQ7DI ECU, adjustable shock absorbers and a high-performance braking system with Brembo calipers and ventilated front discs that sized 320mm. The new Clio Cup is manufactured and assembled at the Alpine factory in Dieppe. It will be available starting September for a sum beginning at €37,800.
