Smart launched a new special edition for the ForTwo. The vehicle runs under the name of CityBeam. Later this year, the current range of ForTwo will be headed toward a replacement, 2014 the Smart ForTwo prototype. The prototype is expected to be 2.69 meters (8.8 feet) long, 3.50 meters (11.4) long and 10 cm (3.9 inches) wider than the regular ForTwo.
In spite of the fact that the replacement is right around the corner, Daimler decided that yet another special edition of the current model is in order. Therefore, the CityBeam made its debut during the Brussels Motor Show available in three different color choices for the body panels: matte anthracite light blue and silver metallic. A silver tradition safety cell comes with both the coupe and the cabrio ForTwo CityBeam.
The new FourTwo special edition comes with titanium colored headlights and LED daytime driving lights In addition to this the mirror triangles come with a plastered edition`s logo. The auto rides on 15 inch double three spoke alloy wheels with 175/55 R15 tires on the front and 195/50 R15 tires in the rear.
The inside of the vehicles boasts in `sporty elegance`. The seats are wrapped in black leather with crystal grey fabric inserts (for the backrests) as well as crystal grey stitching in order to further accentuate its elegancy. The instrument panel also comes wrapped in black leather with grey stitching and the auto comes with a three spoke leather sports steering wheel matching the interior as it bears the same crystal grey stitching. The edition lettering can be found embroidered on the special ordered floor mats.
The limited edition CityBeam `is based on the passion equipment line`, in other words its standard features include: electronic windows, a sunblind transparent panoramic roof and air conditioning with automatic temperature control. The engine choices for both the coupe and cabrio are 55kW electric drive, a 62 kW in line turbo engine and a 52 kW mhd petrol engine.
Concerning prices, they start at 14.490 EUR for the naturally aspired engine coupe. The EV model, priced at 22.951 EUR comes with an extra 65 EUR/ month as rent for the battery pack.
