Magnum MK5

The American car manufacturer, Magnum, has revealed its new Magnum MK5 track toy.  The segment is not quite saturated yet, so the rocket looking machine might have plenty of success. The manufacturer has great expectations with this vehicle, aiming to beat the KTM X-Bow, the BAC Mono, and the Ariel Atom. You might find this difficult to accomplish, but if the constructor has faith in the project, why won’t we also give it a chance?

The Magnum MK5 has a mid-engine rear-wheel-drive setting and it is powered by a 4-cylinder engine that produces 250 bhp and has a 11,000 rpm redline. The engine is mated to a 6-speed sequential transmission and has a limited slip differential. It weights only 1,200 lbs. (545 kg) and it is able to sprint from stand point to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.2 seconds. It has a power-to-weight ratio of 460 bhp per ton. The MK5 can reach a top speed of 150 mph (240 km/h).

The Magnum MK5 is built from composite materials and it is equipped with functional aerodynamic parts such as a front wing, front splitter, flat underbody, rear diffuser and a boot. It can hold just two helmets and a briefcase, but you won’t need more in order to drive it. The two seater rides on 18-inch ultra-light alloy wheels wrapped in 225/40 R18 front and 265/35 R18 high-performance, road-legal competition rubbers.  The super car is already available on order. It has a pre-tax starting price of 139,000 USD. The company plans on building only 20 cars annually and the first ones will be delivered by the end of 2014.
