Qoros 3 Hatch

Qoros has now revealed the 3 Hatch, the company`s second production model. The vehicle will make its public debut in March during the 2014 edition of the Geneva Motor Show.

The Qoros 3 Hatch`s design is inspired mainly from the 3 Sedandesigned by Gert Volker Hildebrand (in collaboration with other designers from Shanghai and Munich) and often looked as Dacia Logan`s rival on the market. The difference between the two can be found in the rear of the vehicle which in the 3 Hatch`s case has a hatchback appearance. Another minor design intervention can be observed on the front grille as well as the bumper fog lights.

The manufacturer`s representatives opinion is that the 3 hatch: `displays a subtle, youthful evolution of the distinctive signature Qoros design cues to inject greater sportiness to the car’s appearance`. According to Volker Steinwascher, Vice Chairman of Qoros, the vehicle is designed to appeal to buyers with an active lifestyle as well as to young families.

Interior wise, the auto can be purchased with a variety of upholstery color combinations for a pleasant ambience. The vehicle comes with an eight inch touchscreen infotainment system, the Qoros MMH (multimedia hub). The system is operated via smartphone and its graphics, software and hardware ware developed in- house with help from other well-known system specialists. The system`s G3 connectivity ensures access to the QorosQloud which offers an array of  `free-for-life services` such as constant vehicle monitoring and even social networking. All in all, interior modifications are minor sharing the same width, height and wheelbase as the 3 Sedan. The Hatch 3`s length was reduced by 177mm, thus the vehicle measures 4438 mm.

The Hatch 3 in powered by a 1.6 liter 4 cylinder gasoline engine (in turbocharged and naturally aspired versions) mated to an automatic dual clutch gearbox or a 6 speed manual transmission. Details regarding the engine`s performances were not revealed, they will probably be made public once the auto makes its official debut in Geneva. The vehicle will be produced at the company`s new assembly plant from Changshu, China.
