Zenos Cars have released details regarding their first vehicle, the E10. The car is expected to make its world debut next year, probably in December.
The E10 is the creation of Mark Edwards and Ansar Ali both former managers for Caterham. The lightweight vehicle`s body will be combined with the chassis as a single unit. The monocoque sportscar is made out of light and resistive efficient materials such as aluminum and carbon fiber. The car`s body will be almost fully removable, the subframes are made out of aluminum and the manufacturer added steel hoops for safety reasons in case of a rollover accident.
The Zenos E10 comes with a double suspension and OZ Racing wheels (16 inch front and 17 inches rear). To ensure a better control, especially at high speeds, the car has an Alcon brake system with 11.2 inch discs. The E10 is powered by a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder Ford sourced engine. The motor outputs 197 bhp (147 kW) and a peak torque of 210 Nm (155 lb-ft). The standard five speed manual transmission can be replaced by an optional six speed one with limited slip differential. While the above mentioned performances are not very remarkable, the situation improves when using a lightweight 1.433 lbs (650 Kg) body. Concerning the speed, Zenos informs that the E10 will go from 0 to 62.14 mph (100 Km/ h) in 4.5 seconds. The vehicle hits a maximum speed of 135 mph (271.26 KM/ h).
The inside features two racing designed seats as well as an LCD display providing the driving and car parameters. Optionally, the E10 can be equipped with larger alloy wheels and calipers, adjustable dampers and ventilated brake discs.
If everything goes right after the E10`s launch next year, the vehicle could be followed by the open-top E11 and the E12 coupe.
