It is not a rumor anymore. The 2014 Subaru Forester is really here and in the photo gallery below you can see it for yourself, as the Japanese specialists have revealed the first photos. The first Forester was revealed back in 1997 and since then, Subaru offered us different photos and by comparison the design of this fourth generation is not a lot different from the current model. It is actually difficult to tell them apart, at least for an untrained eye. We can see that the new one is a bit bigger measuring 180.9 inches in length, 70.7 inches in height and 66.7 inches in width. The wheelbase measures 103.9 inches.
The new 2014 model has more space on the inside and now has more rear seat legroom and a bigger cargo area. In terms of technology, the engineers have offered the infotainment system with navigation, smart phone integration, rear view camera and also we can find harman / kardon premium audio amplifier and speakers. The 2014 Subaru Forester found on the Japanese market will be powered by a 2.0-liter flat four engine capable of generating 146 horsepower, paired to a 6-speed manual or a CVT. The other option is a 2.0-liter turbocharged boxer mated to a CVT. On the North American market things are a bit different. The 2014 Forester will also be available with two engines.
The first one is a 2.5-liter boxer unit capable of generating 170 horsepower paired to a 6-speed transmission or to a CVT. The other option is a 2.0-liter direct injection turbocharged flat-four capable of generating 250 horsepower which is available with a CVT to send the output to the wheels. Japanese customers will have the opportunity to purchase it starting the 13th of November and it will have its first official appearance at the 2012 Los Angeles Motor Show at the end of this month. We do not know yet the date the car goes on sale here.
