The Toyota Land Cruiser is a series of four-wheel drive vehicles produced by the Japanese car producer Toyota. The Land Cruiser series is the longest running series in the history of the company. The production of the first generation Land Cruiser began in 1951 with 90 units, being at that time Toyota's version of a Jeep-like vehicle. The Land Cruiser has been produced in convertible, hardtop, station wagon, and utility truck versions. The Land Cruiser's reliability and longevity has led to huge popularity which still goes on nowadays. The Japanese have introduced a special edition of the vehicle in Russia. It is called the 200 Brownstone.
It’s not very often that the Toyota introduces a special edition of one of its models in Russia, but they take their chance with the Land Cruiser now. There are not too many changes that occur in the vehicle. It is distinguished just by the front fascia where we notice the aftermarket-like headlights with black enclosures. There are also some black inserts behind the chrome bars of the grille.
The Toyota Land Cruiser goes to Russia either as a five or a seven seater. The cabin wears full brown leather upholstery as well as wood and silver trims to freshen things up. Toyota equips the special Land Cruiser only with a 4.5-liter V8 diesel engine that develops 235 bhp (175 kW) and 615 Nm (454 lb-ft) sent to both axles with help from a 6-speed automatic transmission. Well, Toyota took the risk of inserting such a special edition to Russia. Now, we’ll just have to wait and see if their attempt will be well received by the Russians.
