Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet by ABT

The Volkswagen Beetle is no ordinary vehicle. It is probably the most famous symbol of the Volkswagen brand, which, by the way appeared back in 1945, shook the world with its futuristic and unique look.  Neither is ABT Sportsline a common name in the auto field. It is one of the best tuning companies when it comes to engine technology, aerodynamics, sports wheels, exhaust systems, suspension or brakes. Well, when the two names meet, a great project comes out to light, and this time we are talking about an updated aftermarket kit for the Beetle Cabriolet, powered by ABT.

This Volkswagen Beetle tuning kit is not something new coming from ABT. The small vehicle is equipped with a refreshed front spoiler, rear panel and rear skirt and the headlights feature body-colored covers. The tuner's alloy wheels, set on the vehicle, are sized from 18 to 20 inches and can work together with custom suspension springs lowering the front by 30mm and the rear by 35mm. The tuning package also includes a two-pipe rear muffler and a custom braking system encompassing 345x30mm rotors with black calipers.

The Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet is powered by the 1.2 TSI which generates 140 PS (103 kW) and 220 Nm (162 lb-ft), up from the stock 105 PS (77 kW) and 175 Nm (129 lb-ft). The 1.4 TSI engine is modified to produce 210 PS (154 kW) and 280 Nm (206 lb-ft) compared to the stock engine 160 PS (118 kW) and 240 Nm (177 lb-ft). The 2.0 TFSI (stock 200 PS & 280 Nm) is upgraded to 240 PS (176 kW) and 340 Nm (251 lb-ft). In addition, the 210 PS & 280 Nm version of the same engine can be tuned to offer 260 PS (191 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft). When talking about diesels, the 1.6 TDI with its 105 PS (77 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) can be raised to a 125 PS (92 kW) and 285 Nm (210 lb-ft) output. The 2.0 TDI having 140 PS (103 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) can develop 170 PS (125 kW) and 370 Nm (273 lb-ft).So, ABT had a lot of work to do with this small Beetle.
