Volkswagen e-Up!

Volkswagen is the company for which competition and challenge have no limits. It is a continuously growing company with a lot of fans all over the world. There is a constant equilibrium between quality and price, the fleet consisting of various car types that suit everybody. Maybe this is why the numbers of vehicles delivered has increased in a time of crisis. Novelties always find a place when it comes to Volkswagen. And such a novelty is the 2014 Volkswagen e-Up! which will be introduced in September on the occasion of Frankfurt Auto Show.

The Volkswagen e-Up! represents the first fully electric mass production vehicle of the German company. The price has been set to €26,900 in Germany. VW designed the car as a city one that is wanted to provide as much room as possible. The up! has 3.54 meters long, 1.64 m wide and 1.48 m tall with a wheelbase of 2.42 m. Boot space is 251 liters while total cargo space (with the rear seats down) is an acceptable 951 liters.

The Volkswagen e-Up! is powered by an electric powertrain capable of producing 82 HP (60 kW) and 210 Nm (155 lb-ft) of torque. This will enable the EV to establish a maximum speed of 130 km/h and sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 12.4 seconds. VW claims that the small hatchback will take out of its owner’s  pocket less than  €3 per 100 kilometers. More details will be offered in September.
