German cars are probably some of the most wanted vehicles by the tuning companies. There are an overwhelming number of tuning programs developed for German vehicles and many tuning firms are devoted to the brands in Germany. In order to face competition in the tuning segment you have to be one of the best. BBM Motorsport, a tuning company from Germany, tries to come out with new things to consolidate the position in the field. The latest project coming from BBM is the Volkswagen Golf VII GTI.
The Volkswagen Golf VII GTI is normally powered by a four-cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that develops 230 HP (169 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. BBM Motorsport wanted to take the Golf VII out of the ordinary. This is why they upgraded the same engine so that now it generates an impressive 300 HP (221 kW) and 440 Nm (324 lb-ft), representing an increase of 70 HP (51 kW) and 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
The extra power of the Volkswagen was provided by BBM with the help of fiddling with the engine's electronics and installing custom down pipes with sports cats and a carbon intake kit. The vehicle is equipped with a bespoke exhaust system from Supersprint with 100mm pipes, a Stoptech braking system with 328x25 mm four-piston calipers and a KW suspension electronically adjustable between 20 to 55 mm. The hatchback rides on a set of 19 inch BBS wheels with a titan grey finish. The vehicle is covered in a red paint offered by Carwrap Ibbenbueren from Germany. The vehicle looks gorgeous and it already has a lot of fans that can’t wait for tuning programs to come.
