Probably the most spread vehicles around the world are the German cars. Everywhere we go we bump into Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes, Opel or Audi vehicles. So it’s no wonder that the tuning field has these brands as main characters. The market is invaded by tuning programs for these vehicles. Yet, new ones still appear and it seems that tuners never get tired of creating something new for them. It is also the case of MTM, a tuning company which has just came up with a new tuning program for the Volkswagen Golf R.
The Volkswagen Golf VII R upgraded by MTM produces 360 PS (265 kW) developed by the same 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine. Besides the 60 PS (44 kW) extra power, the updated hatchback has also received an additional 70 Nm (51 lb-ft) of torque for an amazing total of 450 Nm (332 lb-ft). The extra power is provided by an M-Cantronic module (2,055 EUR) and the DSG-fitted Golf R can now do the 0-60 km sprint in just 4.2 seconds. The maximum speed still remains electronically limited at 155 mph (250 km/h).
The tuner can equip the Volkswagen Golf VII R with the MTM branded eight-piston front brake calipers with 380x34mm rotors, as well as with a 19-inch set of wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 (235/35 ZR 19) tires. The entire package, including the car costs 54,875 EUR. So if the regular Golf VII is not enough for you, feel free to choose the MTM one.
