According to Germans from Volkswagen, the new Passat 1.8-liter T has a starting price of $20.895 for the S variant, of course for the North American market. Together with this variant, we also have the 1.8-literT Wolfsburg Edition, the 1.8T SE, the 1.8T SE with Sunroof and also he 1.8T SE with Sunroof and Navigation. The 1.8T S comes equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission. The Wolfburg Edition has a starting price of $23.965 and it is equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The SE pricing was established to start at $26.395 and the other SE, with the Sunroof and Navigation was priced at $27.555.
The standard destination charge was established at $820. The German engineers have offered a new EA888 Gen 3 turbocharged and direct-injection 4-cylinder power plant that comes with a number of refinements. Here we have to mention elements like a new thin wall cylinder block, a cylinder head with an integrated exhaust manifold that reduces the friction. The engine mentioned is capable of generating 170 horsepower and 184 lb. ft. of torque, just like the 2.5-liter 5-cylinder one. In terms of fuel consumption when it comes to the 6-speed manual transmission one, the model can reach 34 mpg on the highway, 24 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on a combined cycle. Things are a bit different when it comes to the models equipped with a manual transmission.
The fuel consumption reaches 24 mpg on the highway, 24 mg in the city and 35 mpg on a combined cycle. Thanks to the output, the model can accelerate from 0 to 60 mpg in 7.5 seconds for the one equipped with a manual transmission and to 7.9 seconds for the one with the automatic one. Unfortunately there are no available pictures of the new model, but this is only for now.
