BMW 420d Gran Coupe engine

Bavarian carmaker BMW has big plans for a wide range of models startimg March this year. The engineers have developed new engines and we will start with the 2-Series lineup, the Coupe and the Convertible versions. The two will receive 1.5-liter 3-cylinder petrol units capable of producing 136 horsepower and 220 Nm  of torque. To transfer all this power to the wheels, the engineers have also offered 8-speed automatic Steptronic transmissions. In this combination, the 218i Coupe will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds and the convertible in 9.6 seconds.

Here we also have to mention a new entry-level diesel version called 214d which will receive a 3-cylinder engine to power the Active Tourer. The engine will be capable of generating 95 horsepower and 220 Nm of torque. In terms of fuel consumption, know that it will reach 3.8 and 3.9 liters per 100 km and 99 and 104 g CO2 emission level. The 3-series will receive a 2.0-liter diesel unit capable of producing 116 horsepower and 270 Nm of torque which will enable the Sedan and Touring to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.6 and 11.1 seconds when coupled to the 8-speed transmission. Next on the list is the BMW 420d Gran Coupe which will get a 2.0-liter diesel which now is producing more obtaining 190 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. In the same situation are the 420d Coupe, the 420 xDrive Coupe and the 420d xDrive Gran Coupe. At the end, you should know that the Germans are planning on selling the i8 with an extended range of standard equipment and new interior design elements.
