Ford has long ago become a global company with many dealers in the entire world. Partly, this is due to the fact that the brand is trying to move the same rhythm as the world of cars is moving. At the 2013 Auto Shanghai the firm introduced the Ford Escort concept and the production version of it is about to be introduced at this year’s Guangzhou Auto Show which will take place at the end of the month.
However, the Ford Escord has been revealed sooner than the established date for the official debut. The model is slotted between the Ford Fiesta and the Ford Focus and comes with the familiar Aston Martin-like front grille and Focus-like headlights. On the inside we discover six airbags and a Connect Radio system that enables drivers to connect their smartphones to the car's infotainment system through Bluetooth connectivity with an outdated small display on the center console.
The Ford Escort is powered by a 4-cylinder, 1.5-liter Ti-VCT gasoline engine developing 115 PS (85 kW) and 142 Nm (105 kW). It can work linked to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Deliveries will begin after 20th January. The pricing begins at around 90,000 yuan (14,715 USD) and can increase up to 130,000 yuan (20,900 USD) for the full-option model.
