The Ford Ranger is a nameplate that has been used on three distinct model lines of pickup trucks sold by the Ford Motor Company. Originally, the name was used by the short-lived Edsel Ranger, then later referred to a version of the Ford F-Series sold in North America between model year 1965 and 1981 that denoted a styling package. Today, the 2015 Ford Ranger is based on the newly introduced 2015 Everest, but with a facelift.
The 2015 Ford Ranger facelift looks more aggressive and has a considerably updated interior cabin which gives the vehicle extra personality that differentiates it from the Everest. The manufacturer, Ford Asia Pacific states that the truck will be smarter, safer, smoother, stronger than before but clear information has not been available yet. The Ranger might be powered by a 150 HP and 375 Nm four-cylinder 2.2-liter turbodiesel or a 200 HP and 470 Nm five-cylinder 3.2-liter TDCi, both being connected to a six-speed manual gearbox or an optional automatic transmission. These two configurations are the ones found on the Everest so there are high chances of them being carried on.
