Back in January, Holden launched a competition on Facebook. The idea was for fans to choose the name of a future edition of the Holden Commodore SV6. As a consequence, we now have a name, “Lightning”. The winner is Eu Wyn Wong and the name he proposed will be found on a new special edition which will enter sales later this month.
The Holden Commodore SV6 Lightning, as all the existing special editions, brings some new elements. These include a new set of 20-inch forged alloys with a glossy black finish. The sedan version will be equipped with a glossy black lip spoiler, fender vents, front grille surrounds and side decals. In the ute version, the highlighted-with-gloss-black features are found on the front grille surrounds and side decals.
The Holden Commodore SV6 Lightning will be powered by the well known 3.6-liter SIDI direct-injected V6 engine, which generates 281 horsepower (210 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. Both the ute and the sedan look sportier and more energetic.
