A devil on the road: that’s what the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG is. And now that it has received the attention of Posaidon, we have double trouble. The German tuner squeezed a lot of power from the already legendary SUV. Let’s see what we have.
The Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG received an upgrading package from Posaidon consisting of a few tricks done on the powering unit. The standard engine of the vehicle is a twin-turbo V8 5.5-liter engine which produces 544 HP (400 kW) and 760 Nm (560 lb-ft). The tuner has changed the stock turbochargers with more powerful ones and they also modified the air intake system and intercooler. A custom sports exhaust system, remapped engine ECU and an updated 7G-Tronic gearbox have also been set on the car. Thanks to all of these we have 830 HP (610 kW) and a torque of 1,350 Nm (997 lb-ft). The extreme power seems to be transfered to the road by a set of Pirelli tires with a size of 275/45 R20.
With the new configuration, the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG will only need 4.2 seconds to get to 62 mph (100 km/h). This means it is 1.2s faster than the standard G63 AMG. There's no news about the maximum speed it’s good to know that Mercedes-Benz electronically limits the off-roader to 130 mph (210 km/h). We’ll see if this remains unchanged or not.
