Volkswagen Passat

The Paris Auto Show is a huge opportunity for the companies to show the newest models. Amongst lots of vehicles there had been exposed the eight generation Passat, which can now be admired in the images Volkswagen had released. Other than that, we learned some technical data which can bring the interested clients up to speed. It appears this new model is all about efficiency, looks and comfort, which are all the qualities you need in a good car. Covering the efficiency part, the engine lineup is 20 percent more fuel-efficient. The clients of the VW Passat can choose between five TSI engines which are: the 2.0-liter TSI unit, which comes with three output levels: 180PS, 220PS and 280PS; next, there is the entry-level 125PS 1.4 TSI engine that is also improved to a more powerful 150PS version with active cylinder management (ACT). The last one averages 4.9l/100 km (48 mpg US) and 115 g/km CO2, making it 1.3 l/100 km more fuel-efficient, comparing it to the previous model. What’s also good to know is that all the engines come with a dual clutch gearbox (DSG).

Moving on to the diesel lineup, we found out it includes a 1.6 TDI producing 120PS, a 2.0-liter unit, offered with three output levels: 150PS, 190PS and 240PS. The last engine version is a twin-turbo engine that produces 500Nm (369lb-ft) of torque and the client can reach behind the wheel a top speed of 240 km/h (149 mph).

The recently launched Volkswagen has three equipment lines. One of them is Trendline, another is Comfortline and the third is Highline. The customers will be able to relax and enjoy the features of the vehicle which include 16-inch wheels and LED rear lights, Keyless Go, Automatic Post-Collision Braking and Driver Alert. Also, you will be happy to know the sedan has got front center armrest with storage compartment and if you’re not comfortable, there is a height adjustment system for the front seats. Other functions are tire pressure indicator, a ‘Composition Color’ radio system with 5-inch touchscreen, the ‘Plus’ multi-function display, daytime running lights, Auto Hold, air conditioning, Hill Hold Assist and a coasting function (for DSG-equipped models). The car will be available for the clients who wish to have it starting mid-November and it can be purchased for the price of €25,950.
