Ford Police Interceptor Utility

American carmaker Ford has unveiled the 2016 Police Interceptor Utility vehicle at the Chicago Auto Show last week and this way, the manufacturer has entered a new era in terms of police cars. The new model was developed with input from the Ford Police Advisory Board, which imposed for the model to be capable of facing extreme conditions.


The 2016 Police Interceptor Utility comes with a new front and rear design, new headlamps and also a new instrument panel and an enhanced electrical system which was provided to distribute electrical loads more efficiently. The Surveillance Mode technology brings attention to the driver when there is someone approaching the rear of the vehicle. If this happens, the window of the driver automatically raises and all doors lock. This feature was brough on the market for the first time, by Ford in this model.


The engineers have equipped it with a 3.7-liter V6 unit producing 304 horsepower and 279 lb. Ft. Of torque. Another option is a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 capable of generating 365 horsepower and 350 lb. Ft. Of torque. The model comes with standard all-wheel drive for high speed stability and handling.
