The long awaited New York Auto Show has finally opened its gates. And crossover fans will be happy to see the 2016 model of the Infiniti QX50. The vehicle has just been revealed and brings some refreshing styling elements to spice up its appearance.

The Infiniti QX50 resembles the version found in China, except the fact that it features a few distinctive elements that offer it more personality. The crossover is equipped with updated bumpers, a refreshed grille and new LED daytime running lights.  The vehicle also features restyled mirrors, an increased ride height and a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels.

The major change is in fact the wheelbase which becomes longer than usual. It measures 113.4 inches and this can only mean extra room for the back seat passengers as the legroom grows by 4.3 inches and rear knee room by 3.9 inches. Some new options are found on the inside, such as heated front seats and a moonroof. There's also a new Premium Plus Package which includes GPS navigation, an Around View Monitor and front and rear parking sensors.

The 2016 Infiniti QX50 is powered by a 3.7-liter V6 that outputs 325 bhp (242 kW) and 267 lb-ft (361 Nm) of torque.  This works together with a seven-speed automatic transmission which can be mated to an optional all-wheel drive system. Fans will definitely discover other crossovers at the N.Y. show and they can easily compare this Infiniti with the other vehicles from its segment.
