Volkswagen Golf VII GTD

Volkswagen is one of the world’s top automobile manufacturers. In 2012, VW increased the number of vehicles delivered to customers to 9.276 million (while in 2011 it was 8.265 million), this corresponding to a 12.8 percent share of the world passenger car market. The company has developed centers and services in the entire world, including the U.S. Being a company that does not live such a tough economical crisis, it has decided to honour the American market with the Volkswagen Golf GTD.

It seems that the Americans appetite for the diesel engine is continuously increasing so Volkswagen does a nice move by taking the Golf GTD across the ocean.  2015 should be the year when the GTD will be sold into the American market.  The vehicle is powered by a 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine that generates 184 HP (135 kW) and 280 lb-ft (380 Nm) of torque. It works together with a six-speed manual transmission. The car sprints from 0-62 mph in 7.5 seconds on its way to a maximum speed of 143 mph (230 km/h).

The Volkswagen Golf VII GTD is the most powerful diesel vehicle in the brand’s fleet. Compared to the standard Golf, the GTD version has different bumpers, more prominent spoiler above the tailgate, wider sills, chromed tailpipe and a diffuser. On the inside it has stainless steel pedals, sports steering wheel, black headlining and sport seats. When it will be introduced in the USA, as a new 2016 model, the GTD is supposed to cost around $27,000. And till then new elements will certainly make room in the car’s looks.
