Audi's new beast - V12 TDI Q7

The Audi's V12 TDI Q7 was first previewed at the Detroit Auto Show in January and now expected to start the production. The new V12 beast will be revealed in showrooms in the second half of next year. Until then, execs will focus on the 4.2L V8 TDI version, said an Audi official, in the AutoTelegraaf.
With a massive 1,000Nm of torque available from a low 1,750rpm and 500hp on tap, the new V12 TDI is the engine with most power in the Q7 range and is also the most powerful diesel engine existent in a production auto.
Although the performance numbers are superb, the engine’s fuel economy figure is rated at 11.9L/100km and it already has the Euro V emissions standards for 2010. The 0-100km/h time should take only 5.5 seconds and maximum speed will be an electronically limited 250km/h.
