Chrysler will recall 296,500 SUVs

Chrysler will recall 296,500 2006 and 2007 Commanders, Wranglers, Dodge Nitros and Jeep Grand Cherokees. The recall is the result of an electronic unit capable of delay braking while coasting uphill, a possible crash. This was after the company received an accident report.

The Detroit News says Chrysler is also recalling 72,333 Chrysler Sebring convertibles and Dodge Avenger sedans from the 2008 model to fix the locks and front door latches.

The recall news comes on the heels of Honda which recalls early 200,000 Civics. Chrysler had the most recalls of all domestic carmaker, with a wide margin, in 2007.
