The pickup truck sales improved during August

The pickup sales have been slowing down over the past months, but the market improved during August. The present decline was blamed on a slump housing market and higher gas cost, but increased incentives have bolster the market.

Pickup truck sales rated for 14.89% of all market, a 20 month high in the segment. J.D. Power and Associates says pickup trucks had $4,500 in incentives each, this being the highest offer since July 2006.

The domestic carmakers have been hurt by this decline in sales and GM has decided to cut production at some of its plants. The automakers will continue in offering incentives to spur the sales, at least for the moment.
