Nissan GT-R will debut in SUPER GT Japan series

Nissan and NISMO (Nissan Motorsports International Co., Ltd.) announced today that the NISSAN GT-R model will be in the GT500 class – SUPER GT series for the 2008 season in Japan.

The GT-R last Japanese competition was four year ago, in 2003, when it won the title in Japan GT Championship. Nissan will start private testing of the auto in Japan soon and the details about the car and team structure will be available in February 2008.

The 2009 GT-R runs with a V6 3.8-litre twin turbo `VR38` engine, having plasma-sprayed bores and a unique exhaust twin-turbo manifold system. The GT-R`s new engine makes 480 HP at 6400rpm and top torque of 433 lbs-ft starting from 3200 to 5200rpm.
