2007 United States sales numbers

The official Unite States 2007 sales numbers are in. The biggest name of 2007 is Mazda — with 9.8% improvement — with the greatest loser: Jaguar — down with 24.4%. Toyota surpassed Ford - the number two carmaker in America by around 50,000 units. So, Toyota – up with 2.7% and Ford - down 12.1%. Ford`s Lincoln brand rised by 8.8%.

General Motors retained easily its U.S. top spot — selling 3,866,620 autos — but still down with 6.5%. Amazingly, GM`s Buick fell with 23% — edging out the HUMMER (-22%) and GM`s greatest loser — despite powerful Enclave CUV sales.

Chrysler also was down, only with 3.4%.

Honda and Nissan saw some improvements, growing the sales with 2.5% / 4.5%, respectively.

BMW`s MINI brand improved by 7% — no doubt the reason was the excellent fuel economy.
