Chevrolet Malibu limited stock supplies

With sales of 7,000 cars in November 2007 — very much above its less-than-ambitious goal of 500- and 12,172 in December 2007- representing 6.7% increase over the same period last year- the Chevrolet Malibu model can be hardly find now in any auto show in America. Despite being one of the most important and remarkable models of GM, a lot of car dealers remain without any Malibu sedan to sell.It is assumed that General Motors won't be able to fulfill the demands made so far until the spring of 2008.

Mark LaNeve, GM North America vice president of vehicle sales, commented upon this theme that the cars are selling very well, mostly in South California and the numbers of Chevrolet Malibu available now on stock can not cover, not even by far, the demands on the market. This version of Malibu "turned faster and more prolifically than we anticipated. We don't have anywhere near the availability we'd need for peak sales performance." added Mark LaNeve.

However, for the moment, this "drought" does not affect the sales of the company but if it will last more than several months, it can definitely leave a mark on its profit."I have three on the lot right now, and if I had 20, I would be happy. People are asking for options on the vehicles that we don't have on the lot at the moment. Hopefully, they'll see the value in the car and wait", said Guy Drose, sales manager of Raymond Chevrolet in Antioch, Illinois.

As a final drop into this matter, GM also recently announced that the Malibu Hybrid would only be available in 11 U.S. markets at launch.
