A A4 Allroad quattro project considered by Audi

After the success of the Allroad A6 project, Audi considers to run a similar project for the smaller A4. The concept addresses those persons that are not willing to grow the size of their vehicles to a full-on SUV, but who lung for its capability. The Audi Allroad is essentially a jacked up version of the standard wagon with protective plastic side cladding and a quattro AWD system.

Additional features that could be adopted by the A4 version are the dual-clutch transmission,a new 2.0L turbo diesel engine and pneumatic air suspensions.Power levels would range from 143hp and 320Nm of torque to 170hp and 350Nm of torque. A range topper could also be launched with 204hp and 400Nm of torque available.

However, there is no certainty that this project will be put into shape any time soon. The only official statement according to AutoBild is that Audi has seriously taken into consideration the idea of such a project.
