Inside rumors state that the Holden UTE will soon be launched in the U.S.A. and same rumors claim that the utility will be sold as the new Pontiac G8 ST probably later this year or at most, early in the 2009. On the other side, the same rumors also stated that the plans for a G8 sports wagon have been canceled. The wagon was taken out of the plans due to the American preferences for the SUVs and crossovers.
The future G8 ST UTE will be a combination of performance, remarkable style and acceptable price(actually the UTE is cheaper than sedan in its homeland) as the inside rumors claim and will probably help Pontiac to become an important player in markets where the brand is often overlooked. If the Holden UTE will be brought to USA, the engine lineup will most probably, be identical to the one of sedan. This means two possibilities: either a 256hp V6 or a 361hp V8.We can also hope that they will also bring the HSV version as well. These vehicles will come with a six-speed manual or automatic transmissions, a 411hp LS2 V8 and uprated suspension and brakes. Subscribe to Car news by Email |
