The new Dodge Challenger fully revealed

The spies from managed to surprise few shots from what is seems to be the new Dodge Challenger, a vehicle that has been long expected- this time the shots of the car are with no disguise and made from all angles. The pricing for the Challenger model was already disclosed by the Chrysler officials and it shall start at approximately 38,000$ and there are three color options for the customers: black, silver or hemi-orange-all three versions are brought out with carbon fiber racing stripes. However, there should be also less expensive models to hit the market and the announcements regarding this matter will be made public just in the summer of 2008.

Customers will receive a pretty much fully-load Challenger SRT8 and, besides this, there are just other 3 options available: a set of summer tires instead of all-season rubber for $50, a MyGig Multimedia Infotainment system with navigation for $890 and a power sunroof for $950. The transmission will be automatic, despite all recent rumors that claimed a manual transmission and a V8 engine. First Challenger vehicles will enter the production process in March 2008 and in short time after the initial production run, Dodge will be offering another three versions of the Challenger as 2009 models.

The standard model will be powered by a 3.5L V6 engine, while the R/T models will be equipped with 5.7L V8 and the customers will even have the chance to opt for a five-speed automatic or a six-speed manual. The SRT8 model adds a 6.1L V8 engine, while a 6.4L could show up in the SRT model by 2010. Furthermore, in 2009-2010, also a convertible is expected to be launched with all three trim levels available.

As for the design, in the images shot we can see that the vehicle is very much like the concept itself- the only remarkable difference is that a b-pillar was added to the car’s structure and less noticeable changes refer to a simplified grille, larger side mirrors, taillights that have been divided into sections and more typical door handles.
