Ferrari will not produce a cheaper vehicle as rumored

Ferrari officials stated again that the rumors which appeared in certain auto magazines are not founded- Ferrari will not produce a smaller or lower cost model any time soon. This is what the president of the company, Luca di Montezemolo commented at the Detroit Auto Show. In the last two years, the officials from Ferrari have permanently denied the rumors which were brought in the press about a revived version of the “Dino” or suv-F430 model- nevertheless, the media outlets continue to talk about this subject.

Di Montezemolo also commented about the increasing need to improve the fuel economy and reminded that Ferrari's goal is to reduce the fuel consumption by 30 to 40 percent between 2008- 2013. Technologies like Bio Fuel can make a difference into this matter, but the most important improvements are to come from lightweight technology like aluminum and carbon fiber.

Going back to the lower cost Ferrari rumors, Montezemolo told Auto Motor und Sport magazine from Germany that the Italian super car would not produce a new entry-level model because this means a vehicle with “less technology” and Ferrari does not want to pay that price.
