AMG likes the idea of diesel engines

After Audi revealed the R8 V12 TDi Concept and Ferrari debuted the Biofuel F430 prototype, Mercedes is now closer than ever to introduce an AMG-badged diesel. The upcoming AMG model will run with a powerful V8 diesel engine, delivering a peak torque of 700 Nm plus will be offering greater efficiency in long-distance cruising than the petrol alternatives.

AMG leaders confirmed in Detroit that besides the revised SLK, which was revealed at the US exposition, a further five autos will be face lifted this year.

The next in line for an extensive makeover is the SL, The M-Class premium SUV plus the CLS coupé also will benefit from a new appearance. The strongest changes will be done on the A and B-Class.
