Chevrolet Silverado reaching 1 million miles

It is known that European cars have always been considered to be the best, mostly in comparison with the American models (probably because of the „not that smooth roads” on the old continent), but here is the first, and probably not the only one, exception of the rule- a 1991 Chevrolet Silverado owned by Frank Oresnik from Wisconsin whose pickup truck is about to cross the one million-mile mark, which also means the retirement time for the amazing car.

The truck was bought back in 1996 with over 41,000 miles on board, but since then it had racked up to an average of 85,000 miles per year while Mr. Oresnik has been delivering seafood in three states ever since. Even though the car was repaired many times (the truck has seen four radiators, three gas tanks, five transmissions and six water pumps), the engine itself has never been reconditioned- the main ingredients here are the routine maintenance and of course, a bit of luck. Despite the fact that the truck seems to be working prefectly, Mr. Oresnik plans to retire old Silverado once it got to the one million mark sign- the owner commented for The Detroit News that "I feel almost like the longtime NFL player as he goes into his last training camp knowing this is the end."
