On the 5th of February, the 2008 Focus Coupe-Cabriolet was revealed for the European market and it is worth mentioning that Cabriolet version joins the list of Ford models that were recently updated (the the three-door, four-door, five-door, wagon and ST models). As the cherry on the top prepared by Ford, the Focus Coupe-Cabriolet will be officially released just in 2009. The newly-designed model will be manufactured at Pininfarina's Bairo plant, of course, with some help from the italian firm.
Chris Bird, Design Director at Ford of Europe commented that "the new Ford Focus Coupé-Cabriolet is a special blend; we felt that the new very 'kinetic' front end design will perfectly complement the timelessly-elegant, Italian flavoured profile and rear end design. The result is a perfect mix of latest level Focus dynamics and the special Coupe-Cabriolet design execution that we had already developed jointly with Pininfarina." There have been made changes also to the interior of the car by offering higher quality finishes to the customer and hard-wearing materials- the most noticeable change is the so-called "binocular-style" instrument cluster where the components are all illuminated in red. When it comes to the engine, there is a range of Duratec gas and Duratorq diesel engines available. First option is a 1.6 liter gasoline engine which can produce 100hp and a second one is the 2.0 liter gas motor producing 145hp- for a diesel altenative, one can choose the 2.0 liter TDCi engine delivering 136 hp.
