Justin Wilson – the British single-seater star secured a top drive in the Unite States Champ Car series. This 29-year-old Englishman signed for the squad of Newman/Haas/Lanigan, where he`ll replace Sebastien Bourdais - four-time champion, who is now with Formula 1.
Wilson is now in pole position for the first title, after he finished 2007 as a runner-up to Bourdais. I am excited to have the opportunity to add to the success Sebastien achieved for the team he affirmed. I am hoping to learn my environment quickly and let the results take care of themselves.
The driver line-up is now completed by Graham Rahal, the 19-year-old rising star, son of Bobby - the three-time title holder. This teenager impressed in his beginner season last year, by finishing on the fifth pitch in the standings and being the youngest competitor ever to score a place on the podium. Part owned by Paul Newman (Hollywood film star), the Newman/Haas/Lanigan crew is one of the most flourishing racing outfits in America. In almost 25 years of competing, it has won seven championships of constructors, plus previous drivers have included some legendary names like Nigel Mansell and Mario Andretti.
